Barn Records to Keep

You don’t have to keep daily records when your horse is okay, but since Traverse has had surgery, it is a little bit more work. These are the things I record in my barn journal every day.

1. T’s temperature
2. T’s daily water intake
3. Notes on the appearance of the wound.
4. Any other changes.

These are records you ALWAYS need to keep when you own a horse.

1. De-worming records (every 6 weeks)

2. Notes of vet’s comments
3. Farriery/ trimming records (every 6 weeks)
4. Immunization records (2x per year)
